Kuvimba shores up Shamva Gold Mine

SHAMVA Gold Mine in Mashonaland Central province has increased annual production to nearly 700 kilogrammes since its takeover in 2020 by Kuvimba Mining House that injected US$15 million into reviving the mine's underground operations.

At the Shamva Hill open pit project Kuvimba Mining House is going to establish a 220 000 tonnes per month processing plant together with a tailing storage facility. Currently Shamva Gold Mine is producing an average of 670 kgs from its underground operations since it's revitalisation in 2020.

Shamva gold mine re-opens for business

Shamva Gold Mine reopened after Landela Mining Venture acquired and injected fresh capital into the business, previously owned by Metallon Corporation. Metallon suspended operations at three of its mines including Shamva and Mazowe last year due to mounting debts estimated at US$200 million.

Zimbabwe State miner seeks $150m to boost gold output

Zimbabwe's largest gold producer is negotiating with potential partners for a $150-million investment to boost production at its Shamva mine by 50%. Kuvimba Mining House, 65% owned by the State, has already undertaken feasibility study for a large-scale mine and processing plant, according to acting Chief Executive Officer Trevor Barnard.
