I have an incomplete Marvin vertical milling attachment for my Atlas MFC milling machine. It's missing a couple of the pulleys and possibly some other parts. Grizzly sells a unit for that machine. I don't remember it costing 175 dollars times 2. I think a problem you may run into with that unit is that it will run into the cabinet at either end of your travel. It hangs down, you see. The unit that's sold for that machine is horizontally mounted. So it will never run into the cabinet.

The ram stroke is adjustable - make sure it is not adjusted to 0. Unfortunately shaper vises are a little hard to find, but you could make do with a normal milling vise. You'll probably have to stalk Ebay for the other missing parts, or make your own.

Although I usually build my own VFD systems, in my opinion it is not worth the small price difference vs. the factory installed VFD. The parts alone would have been about the cost difference. The motor is a VFD rated inverter drive, so 20-200Hz, it uses a Yaskawa VFD drive, there are 0 issues as far as performance.
